About the event
Classical Waves Ecstatic Dance
An evening of dance, with possible group singing, to ‘classical’ music. I’m keeping it to music inspired by ‘European’ classical as I don’t know other cultures’ classical well enough. But it will be broad in scope and (trusting no lawsuits will follow, thanks spirit of Gabrielle 🥰), I’ll be guided by the work of Gabrielle Roth’s ‘Five Rhythms’, moving through energetic moods and styles to sweat and move what’s ready to shift.
Like the flyer says, I’ve been dancing with this map and offshoots for 23 years, and it has been a long term relationship! I’ll be encouraging and gently holding space, and I’d also like to bring in that absolutely anyone is 100% welcome; I understand from friends and media that people of colour may feel reluctant to come to ‘white spaces’, and I hope that if this calls you, it may be possible t…
